I am so thankful for not only the qualified teachers that care but all the additional support staff that help all the children. It has been amazing to see her reading soar and the love she has for learning, so much more than just prepping for a test! Thank you all! Visitor 1y ago. Really nice ". Resident 1y ago. Lots of southern passive aggression, but also lots of truly friendly, laid back people.
Look for the city to get younger and younger as the "college town" infrastructure continues to expand. Most, if not all, dog owners pick up after their dog. Not sure about leash rules but everyone seems to abide by a leash. Close access to Colonial Williamsburg which seems to be the spot to walk your dog and look at the history. Plenty of places to eat and shop. As well as loads of history to see and visit.
Everyone brings their families and pets, and it feels good to support small farmers. People who have more than two dogs are not allowed according to the HOA, and large dogs need to be friendly for the older neighbors to be excepting of them.
Resident 2y ago. Ever since I was widened going to Newport News has been a piece of cake. People over here are friendly and really gives me a reason to go out.
All the restaurants are near. And the beach is only an hour and a half away. Individual neighborhoods get together for lunch, block parties, etc. Kid and dog friendly. Close to the York river State Park". I work at home and am not involved with a lot of activities. It's not hard to find a local family to hang out with, and the school systems are great! Resident 3y ago. Visitor 3y ago. Friendly and lots to do.
Great restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend. Williamsburg is a great community. Close to many recreational, educational and shopping venues. People are very friendly and helpful.
An area you can raise kids in. It is safe and not bothered by heavy traffic at the point of entry. But the interstate is accessible and once it is wider it will make the drive much easier. Lots of streets to walk on and lots of people who like dogs. It has everything, creates lots of opportunities to get involved, meet folks, join clubs, engage in activities of common interest. Great golf, walking paths, nature trails. Much culture and history is available for enjoyment.
William and Mary is in town.
